Parking in Fairgrounds Lots

Parking in all State Fair lots is available on a first-come basis, and lots do fill quickly each day.

Fairgrounds parking lots open at 6 a.m., overnight parking is not permitted. See a State Fair map for locations and directions. Fairgrounds gate admission opens at 7 a.m. Parking ticket sales are from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. (6 p.m. Labor Day).

Vehicle parking in State Fair lots is $20 (cash or credit/debit) and is paid for as you enter to park.

Accessible Parking

Parking spaces designated for vehicles with a valid disability parking certificate are located in many State Fair lots on a first-come basis. Cost is $20 (cash or credit/debit). See a State Fair map for locations. Learn more about accessible parking.

Overnight Parking

Overnight parking is not permitted in fairgrounds public parking lots. Learn more about overnight parking for livestock exhibitors.

Parking Readmission

If you park on the fairgrounds and leave the lot, you must pay to re-park your vehicle when you return.

RV Parking

There is no daily RV parking in fairgrounds lots.

Charter Bus Parking

Groups arriving at the State Fair by bus may use the University of Minnesota Transitway to avoid traffic and park in a designated lot for free! Learn more about charter bus parking.

How to Access the Fairgrounds Parking Lots

Fairgrounds address (to get you in the general vicinity of the fairgrounds; this is not the address of parking lots):

Below is how our on-site lots are typically accessed. If the lots are full, you may be directed to a different lot where space is available.

To keep traffic flowing efficiently and safely, guests may not be able to choose what lot they can park in and will be directed to a lot where space is available. Please note: Parking in all State Fair lots is available on a first-come basis, and space is very limited. Lots often fill quickly each morning. We encourage you to have an alternate plan if the on-site lots are full when you arrive.

SOUTHBOUND

• On Snelling Avenue: Turn right onto Hoyt Avenue and you will be directed to park in a lot on the north or west end of the fairgrounds if space is available.

Please note: The exit from southbound Snelling Avenue to Como Avenue will generally be closed by mid-morning. Please plan accordingly.

NORTHBOUND

• If you’re heading north on Snelling Avenue, exit on Como Avenue and turn left. You will be directed into the lots off Como Avenue on the south end of the fairgrounds if space is available.

Please note: At busy times, traffic control will prohibit left turns from Como Avenue into the Como lots due to safety.

EASTBOUND

• On Como Avenue: You will be directed into the lots south of Como Avenue if space is available.
• On Larpenteur Avenue: Turn right onto Underwood Street and you will be directed to park in lots on the north end if space is available.

WESTBOUND

• On Larpenteur Avenue: Turn left onto Snelling Avenue. Turn right onto Hoyt Avenue, and you will be directed to park in lots on the north or west end if space is available.

Please note: Traffic heading westbound on Larpenteur Avenue will not be permitted to turn left onto Underwood Street.

• On Hoyt Avenue: Cross Snelling Avenue and you will be directed to park in lots on the north or west end if space is available.
• On Nebraska Avenue, Arlington Avenue or Midway Parkway: Turn right on Arona Street. Turn left onto Hoyt Avenue. Cross Snelling Avenue and you will be directed to park in lots on the north or west end if space is available.
• On Como Avenue: You will be directed into the lots off Como Avenue if space is available.

Please note: At busy times, traffic control will prohibit left turns into the Como lots due to safety.
